About us

Our company's legal predecessor, GEOINFORM KFT., was founded in July 1989 as an Austrian-Hungarian joint venture, with the then newly retired Edgár Annau as managing director.

The aim – taking advantage of the founding boom around the change of regime – was to provide various services to new (joint) ventures, such as legal and financial consulting, accounting, real-estate brokerage and export-import. The idea proved right: the company provided one-off and ongoing services to the Hungarian subsidiaries of several renowned foreign firms. As the incorporation boom subsided, Geoinform's growth stalled by 1995. New ideas were needed.

The new managing director, Gábor Orbay, arrived with a concrete vision: while keeping the existing service profile, Geoinform should also start trading – in the absence of sufficient working capital, as the exclusive Hungarian distributor of renowned foreign manufacturers' products, i.e. with their support.
The concept worked: since 1996, trade has become ever more dominant, and the company has grown steadily ever since. The ownership structure changed several times; at the end of 2002, Gábor Orbay acquired 96% of the company, which also justified the name change to ORBAY KFT.

Our company is a representative wholesaler in the field of fastening technology. We exclusively import and distribute the measuring tools of the more than 135-year-old German brand STABILA, the certified fittings of the German manufacturer GAH-Alberts, and the plugs and drill bits of the likewise German KEW and CD JUWEL.

In Hungary we are the main distributor of the sealants, adhesives and installation tapes of the world-famous German-based Tremco illbruck, of Dresselhaus screws and of the renowned Stubai tools.

Our own-label OrbayMulti sealants and adhesives are now sold by more than 500 retailers with unbroken popularity.

We also supply foundation bolts, threaded rods, conventional and diamond cutting discs, other masonry tools and more – almost everything indispensable for daily installation work in the building trades.

Our product range is constantly expanding.

Through five regional representatives we are present throughout the country. Our main partners are retailers. Our reputation is considerable: in 2023, more than 1,200 customers bought from us.
This too reflects the trust placed in us and our products – the trust that matters most to us and is the guarantee of our further growth.
